We are seeking a Head of Security (Protection Services) Based in Zambia on a FIFO basis. You will be working for an International Mining company, reporting to the GM of the mine.
The role is to initiate and recommend appropriate security systems for adequate protection of the mining area while taking into account operational security risks.
Accountabilities:
Development of Effective Security Measures
Initiates and recommends to management appropriate security systems for adequate protection of the mining area, commodities or property and employees.
Security risk management and initiatives
To lead operational security risk management activities to enhance the value of the company and brand and prioritize security initiatives based on appropriate risks identified to ensure total protection of company property.
Security Systems Development
Provides advice to management on all security matters, reviews security systems in use from time to time and recommends changes necessary to make it more effective.
Intelligence & Information development
Create a reliable and strong intelligence & information network
Safe Transit and Storage of Commodity
Implements effective and efficient procedures and methods for secure storage and transit of product
Networking
Maintain relationships with local and state law enforcement and other related government agencies to ensure sound relationships and maximum security in the area of operations
Provision of Training
Ensures that the security department is adequately trained to meet the needs of the department and ensure efficiency
Security Budget
Formulate security budgets and ensure timely implementation
Professional Qualifications and Experience
High School Certificate
Professional :- Diploma/Degree in any Administration discipline/Graduation in any discipline
Should have served as an officer in Military or police service
10 years’ experience in security operations management with at least 5 years at senior management level
Good computer skills
Clear Understanding and experience of BPSHR principles and illegal mining issues
Experience in the Mining Industry
Skills, Knowledge & Characteristics
Excellent analytical and evaluation skills
Good command of both oral and written communication in English
Possession of good leadership skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Good understanding of the current security legal frameworks
Remuneration
USD net salary + Benefits and Bonuses
10:3 rotation
Single status lodging and boarding provided by company
