Director, Regional Security - Singapore

Location: Singapore
Engagement:  Permanent, full time.

Job purpose :
We have long been at the forefront in the provision of operational security.
As we move to our next stage of development, we are seeking an experienced
Director to reshape and enhance our physical security operations and services
proposition to ensure that we continue to provide world-class solutions and
resources to our clients in Asia Pacific.

The post holder will be required to manage, develop and enhance our operational
security service offerings to clients across Asia Pacific, and to create and develop
an agile and creative business development approach across a diverse client base
and markets.

The goal is to aggressively grow our security services business and to establish
the company as the premier provider of security resourcing and protective services,
largely comprising Embedded Consulting Services (ECS), Managed Journey
Services (MJS), Executive Projection, Event Security and Security Training.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Define and implement competitive business strategies and associated business
plans that encompass a full range of operational security services that flow from
our core expertise and which meet client need.

More specifically, drive the Company Embedded Consulting Services (ECS) practice across Asia Pacific to meet both growing demand and growth aspirations, as well as our Protective Services and Security Training businesses.

Consistently develop the company’s positioning with its clients to enhance
business development and secure higher fee-earning engagements, with
particular emphasis on the resourcing and solutions we provide for our clients’
Security Operations Centres (SOCs). 

Represent the business on appropriate industry bodies and conferences to help build our brand and market presence.

Support the development of innovative products and services that address client
need (again, with particular emphasis on our clients’ SOCs), and that help
maintain the Company at the forefront of the sector. 

Service development
Build innovative and effective operational service delivery models.
Build a network of security experts and analysts who can be deployed in support
of our clients’ needs, both short-term and long-term.
Assist managers in the selection and ongoing management of subcontractors and
subcontractor vetting in line with group policy.
Build training and development programmes that address client needs and
pricing, utilising specialist input as needed.
Build alliances with third parties to enhance our client offering.

Project management and service delivery
Deliver credible and inspirational business and operational leadership to a diverse
team of managers and operators.
P&L owner for the Operations practice:
Ensure implementation of robust and consistent processes for pipeline
management and financial reporting to enable accurate forecasting, efficient cost
controls, and targeted and pro-active client management and business
development.
Oversee and ensure compliant practices and reporting within the team for project
commercial management, including cash collection, billing and project profitability.
Undertake scoping of a range of complex embedded, protective services and
training projects that are innovative, effective, and meet client need.
Provide quality assurance and governance for all operations and training.
Work effectively within a matrix structure to deliver capability across the region.

Client relations
Work with our client base to understand their operational, resourcing, training and
development needs, and feed this back into our business development and
service development process.
Foster thriving relationships, including exploiting cross-selling opportunities to
relevant parts of the business as and when possible.
Take our clients to higher and broader levels of service; expand the relationship
by service and geography.
Become involved in the dynamic account management environment by playing a
role on account management teams.

Knowledge and experience
Essential
Significant experience in the planning and delivery of operational security
services.
Recognised as an expert within the sector with the personal credibility and
gravitas needed to operate effectively at senior level with corporate clients.
Extensive and demonstrable experience of operating within a commercial
environment.
Proven experience of successfully managing projects to reach the strategic and
operational goals.
Commercially astute when planning and pricing projects in terms of time, resource
and outcomes.
Relevant role of having successfully built and maintained effective and strong
client relationships.

Qualifications and specialist skills
Essential
Educated Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Strong commercial focus (financial management skills, legal and contractual
skills) and leadership.
Good client (both internal and external) management and consulting skills.
Effective decision making and judgment.
Assertiveness and drive with strong influencing skills.
People leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and drive the performance
of a team of security professionals.
Strong interpersonal skills – building trust and rapport.
Excellent communication skills – written and oral (informal and presentation to
board level).

Preferred
Post-graduate qualification in a related area.
Operational command experience.
