Patriot Group International Inc. has a full-time, exempt employee opening for an Advanced Sniper Instructor. This position will be located in our Okinawa, Japan based training operations location. This position reports to the PGI Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Provide planning, coordination, and instruction.
• Conduct training/instruction for advanced sniping and combat marksmanship in urban
daylight, low light, and darkness.
• Provide instruction in precision shooting topics including:
o Basic field firing techniques
o Target engagement
o Night fire with the aid of night optics
o Position shooting
o Ballistic classes
o Immediate action drills
o Aerial shooting from a helicopter platform
• Assist in planning, coordination, and evaluation of MEU Exercises.
• Provide Instruction during Situational Training Exercises (STX) in support of BLT and MEU training exercises.
• Attend Course Content Review Boards to provide recommendations for course content changes based on lessons learned.
• Support Exercise Planning Events, Conferences, and Site Surveys.
Qualifications:
• Must be a Combat veteran
• Minimum of (6) years of honorable service in the United States Armed Forces or civilian law enforcement agency equivalent.
• Must have been a Marine Corps Scout Sniper or Special Operations Forces Sniper or civilian law enforcement agency equivalent.
• Must have served as a Sniper Instructor at Expeditionary/Special Operations Training Group’s Urban Sniper Course, Special Operation Forces Sniper Course, the
Basic Sniper Course (USMC), or Marine Special Operations Command Advanced Sniper Course, or equivalent course.
• Experience with high angle and aerial shooting as it applies to Specialized Limited Scale Raids and Visit, Board, Search and Seizure.
• Advanced knowledge of ballistics and loophole formulas taught at the basic sniper course.
Clearance:
Must possess an active DOD SECRET Security Clearance.
General Requirements:
• Must be able to be able to pass the United State Marine Corps and Marine Corps Base Camp Butler Range Safety Officer Curriculum
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Be able to maintain military customs and courtesies, demonstrate a knowledge and familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the United States Marine
Corps, military rank/grade structure, knowledge of Marine Corps and military terminology, and shipboard environments.
• Must be able to pass within 90 days of arrival to Okinawa and maintain an eighty percent qualification score in the United States Marine Corps modified
qualification course of fire with the United States Marine Corps issued service rifle and pistol.
• Knowledge of common commercial computer applications (e.g. Outlook, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.) to produce a variety of documents, charts,
graphs, and briefing materials and devices/equipment (tablets, smartphones, etc) to present and execute training.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to bend at the waist, knees, and waist
• Must have the physical ability to perform a variety of training functions
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, walking long distances on a training facility, and operate equipment.
• Must be able to perform all job-related tasks in adverse weather conditions.
