Risk Consultant / Operations Manager, Dakar

Location: Dakar, Senegal

Job purpose 
To act as part of our growing Crisis and Security Consulting team in Dakar, Senegal. This role will manage operations for client projects in the region, deliver crisis and security consulting tasks, and assist with the growth of our new office.

Tasks and responsibilities
Manage operations for long-standing client projects in West Africa, including tasks
such as:

  • Developing and reviewing security procedures;
  • Liaising with local security providers;
  • Developing and facilitating training;
  • Ensuring performance of project personnel;
  • Managing ad hoc tasks outside of normal provision of security services; and
  • Ensuring overall health of project.

Scope and deliver consulting tasks related to crisis and security upon client
request, including projects such as:

  • Developing risk assessments and treatment plans;
  • Conducting site security assessments;
  • Drafting crisis or security plans and procedures; and
  • Facilitating training activities, amongst others.

Assist with business development efforts throughout West Africa, with a particular
focus on Francophone countries.
Provide general support to a small, but growing, team based in Dakar.

Knowledge and experience
Essential
Experience in crisis and security management, including developing and
managing security management structures and operations
Knowledge on security risks in West Africa
Ability to quickly understand and assimilate information, and determine what
action is required
Prior experience of interacting with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
(including a variety of clients)
Experience in consulting and business development
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Fluent written and spoken French and English


Qualifications and specialist skills
Educated to degree level
Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
Willingness to travel within West Africa
ECOWAS passport holder.
