Description
This Security Specialist will support all security requirements in theater. This position reports directly to Task Order Project Manager with direct communication, support and guidance from the Mission Essential, Director of Security. The Security Specialist also supports day-to-day security operations for all personnel in theater, ensuring all security related requirements are met and policy, procedures and guidance are implemented.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary Security specialist for Mission Essential’s Security Organization OCONUS
Ensure strict adherence to the provisions of the NISPOM, its supplement, the DoD overprint, ICD and other local customer policies
Provide day-to-day security support that includes continuous assessment of procedures to identify shortfalls and provide appropriate recommendations for revising and improving security policies, procedures, and systems
Conduct all personnel and physical security related requirements for the Afghanistan theater of Operations for Mission Essential (ME)
Develop and conduct Security briefings for all in-coming and out-going personnel. Conducts Security Education, Training and Awareness (SETA) program and works in tandem with CONUS security team to ensure all annual and ADHOC SETA requirements are met
Assist in developing, implementing, and training the local Operations Security program
Work cooperatively with OCONUS staff to ensure security requirements are met for linguist assignments
Work closely with CONUS Security team to assist and execute the Foreign Travel Reporting requirements for the customer and ME
Conduct exploration of any loss, compromise, or suspected compromise of classified and/or sensitive information, including conducting preliminary inquiries and generating damage assessments resulting from the loss of classified information
Ensure Incident reporting issues are promptly reported throughout investigation period to include initial, follow-up and final report
Provide local guidance to all linguist in theater on all ME security reporting requirements
Participate in daily staff interactions with ME staff, in order to better manage ME Linguists in support of program requirements
Process all security requests for upgrades to CAT II and CAT III
Schedule SCI read on for CAT III Linguists as needed
Assist in coordination and scheduling of Linguist Subject Interviews in theater
Provide weekly reports in a timely manner, in accordance with written guidance to include weekly alignment input to CONUS Security
Post security clearance information in the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and submit all security relative documentation to upload in ME system of record
Review all completed E-QIPs prior to submission to ME Security for Personnel Security Investigations (PSI)
Take fingerprints as needed as part of the clearance process or when requested by PMO Security
Ensure that all staff are in compliance with the proper destruction of ME Proprietary Information
Monitor SIPR for Force Protection issues on a daily basis and provides daily situation reports to all ME Staff personnel
Coordinate and collaborate with CONUS Security team regarding security relative issues/concerns
Ensure timely notification of pertinent security matters to program technical and ME security management staff
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma
Previous or current FSO experience
Experience with JPAS
Extensive knowledge of the NISPOM, Supplement, the DoD Overprint, DoD Manuals
Four years or more (4+) minimum industrial Security work experience to include strong physical security and personnel security experiences
Must be able to possess and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
Must be willing to travel within the organizational geographic Area of Responsibility (AOR)
Ability to work in fast-paced, complex, and dynamic environment and effectively interact with various levels of peers and leadership team
Must be flexible and able to work independently and in a team environment
Desired Requirements
Current Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility/willingness to submit a CI polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalent experience (4 years)
Computer literacy in M/S Office to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Strong attention to detail
Advanced skills in communication
Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative requiring minimal supervision; ability to develop and create process, procedures and continuity within the specific roles and responsibilities
