Job Summary

The Security Specialist is responsible for biometric, information, operational, and/or physical security of company personnel and assets.

Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Operate Biometric Automated Toolset System (BATS), screen personnel, collect and enter data into security database, and compare to “watch list”
Perform physical security responsibilities including assigning personnel, conducting briefings, visiting assigned posts to oversee Foreign National (FN) guard force, assessing threats, investigating and writing up “Lost, Theft, Damaged, Destroyed” (LTDD) reports, and conducting training
Write, maintain, and store security logs, reports, and files

Conduct fingerprinting, iris scans, photographical facial images; and collect other personal data
Produce identification cards for Host Country Nationals and Third Country National employees
Implement resource protection/loss prevention requirements and conduct security checks of personnel, grounds, and facilities
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with US and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Military, FN Population, and Host Country Military, Police, and Nationals
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Team-oriented and treats others with dignity and respect
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Knowledge of DOD Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) requirements, interview and investigative techniques, and preparing written reports of security incidents
Biometric role requires general knowledge of network integration and peripheral devices of automated data processing equipment
Ability to operate a motor vehicle with manual transmission.
Ability to obtain a DynCorp driving certification.


Experience & Education
Minimum two (2) years of security operations, physical security, and/or AT/FP experience working in a hostile environment, including at least one (1) year conducting formal inquiries regarding loss, criminal acts, or violations
Prefer experience in US military police, Air Force Security Forces, civilian law enforcement, BATS, and/or military intelligence
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prefer Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in security-related field such as physical security, security management, criminal justice, AT/FP, business, or political science
Must possess and maintain valid state driver’s license and/or Country of residency equivalent.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment for extended periods of time during high threat situations and stand for long periods of time
Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
Personnel should be aware of moving/reassignment on short notice and under adverse conditions
