Overview:
The Security Director leads, manages, and integrates SOC’s guard force and contract law enforcement officers at multiple U.S. Army sites throughout the country Kuwait on behalf of Area Support Group – Kuwait (ASG-KU). The Security Director is the senior contract security officer on site and will directly interface with the local U.S. Government force protection authorities on all matters pertaining to the safety and security of Government property, personnel, equipment, and facilities.

Responsibilities:
The Security Director will lead an organization performing the following functional security and law enforcement duties:

  • Police Records/Administration – Handle criminal reports, non- criminal reports, traffic tickets, etc.
  • Force Protection Equipment – The operation of force protection equipment.
  • Installation Access Office – Develop, operate, and maintain the badge/pass system to issue, maintain, and account for security cards and badges.
  • Controlled Access Areas – Provide security services to control access areas as directed
  • Over-watch – Observe and provide security from over-watch towers for all inbound vehicle lanes and inspection areas with the purpose of engaging vehicles that may attempt to breach the ECPs or perimeter.
  • Mobile Vehicle Container Inspection System (MVACIS) – Man, operate, and maintain mobile vehicle x-ray scanning machines and ground mounted vehicle x-ray scanning machines.
  • Tower Observers – Conduct observation of all avenues of approach from towers.
  • Interior Patrols – Patrol locations by motor vehicle or on foot, as required, to monitor any unauthorized activities or evidence of sabotage.
  • Security and Law Enforcement – Supplement the Provost Marshall Office to provide a safe environment for the ASG-KU community. This includes Military Police desk operations, law enforcement, traffic accident investigation, security, and K-9 Section.
  • Contract Law Enforcement Officer (CLEO) – Conduct mobile law and order patrols, respond to incidents, take sworn statements, enforce traffic rules, and investigate traffic accidents.
  • Explosive Detection Dog/Narcotic Detection Dog (EDD/NDD) Teams – Provide mobile EDD/NDD teams to supplement USG military working dog teams assigned to ASG-KU military communities.
  • Random Anti-Terrorist Measures (RAM) Team –  Conduct Random Anti-Terrorism Measures IAW RAM calendar.
  • Executive Personnel Drivers (EPDs) –Serve as drivers for Executive-level military personnel and dignitaries.

Qualifications:
  • 10 years security/project management experience
  • Experience managing a contract guard force of at least 500 armed personnel
  • Prior experience managing budgets of at least $40M per year
  • College degree in business management, security, law enforcement, or a related field of study from an accredited institution
  • Prior experience managing security and force protection unit in the Middle East
  • Prior experience managing a security, military police, or force protection unit as a member of the U.S. Military or as a contractor in support of the U.S. Departments of Army, Navy, or Air Force; strong preference for experience with U.S. Army installations and U.S. Army policies and procedures
  • Prior experience leading contract guard forces through the use of formal policies, procedures, training, and management systems that comply with U.S. Military standards and directives
  • Prior experience managing multi-national workforces
  • Active DoD SECRET security clearance

Must also meet the following minimum criteria:
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be physically able to perform all general duties, functions and activities.
  • Be free from any communicable diseases. Be in good general health, with physical agility allowing for stooping, bending, stretching, and lifting of moderately heavy boxes (up to 30 pounds of materials and equipment), and without mental or physical defects or abnormalities that would interfere with the performance of duties.
  • Possess binocular vision correctable to 20/30, free of color blindness, and capable of hearing ordinary conversation at 15 feet with either ear without the benefit of a hearing aid.
  • Pass a physical examination, meet U.S. Army height and weight standards, and pass a physical fitness test IAW AR 600-9, The Army Weight Control Program, and FM 21-20, Physical Fitness Training.
  • Meet USG security requirements IAW AR 380-67, Department of the Army Personnel Security Program, paragraph 1-310, and AR 190-56, Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program.
