PAE is currently seeking an EOD Soldier Skills Trainer to support the a Demining Training Program in East Africa.
EOD Soldier Skills Trainers will instruct and supervise soldier skills training for company grade African Union (AU) peacekeeping officers and their soldiers to prepare them for deployment to African Union, United Nations or Regional Peacekeeping Missions.
EOD Soldier Skills Training shall focus on current procedures for the location, identification, render safe, recovery, technical evaluation, and disposal of surface and underwater ordnance.
Trainers may also instruct AU peacekeeping soldiers on general soldier skills, human rights issues (to include gender respect, elimination of sexual exploitation and child protection); protection of civilians; individual health maintenance; individual first aid; HIV/AIDS prevention; and orientation in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
Trainers may be responsible for ensuring development of Programs of Instruction (POIs), lesson plans, and training support packages for individual and collective training.
EOD Soldier Skills Trainers will ensure all training scenarios are based on the most current mission area information from Areas of Operations.
Trainers are expected to know or review the US Military doctrine applicable to the tasks for which they are responsible to instruct.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of IEDD operator experience including EOD, IEDD and C-IED is required.
A minimum of 18 months of military operations and training experience (or civilian equivalent) is required.
Expert level knowledge and experience in Explosive Ordinance Disposal is required.
Knowlwdge of Weapons Intellegince is highly desireable.
Familiarity with standard military training concepts, practices, and procedures is required.
A minimum of 18 months of experience as an EOD specialist in an active theatre within the last 3 years is required.
A minimum of three years of increasingly responsible experience with EOD military training concepts, practices, and procedures; including experience with the utilization of ROV is required.
Willingness and ability to live and work in remote and austere field environments is required.
Ability to pass a pre-employment screening process to include background check and drug screen is required.
Experience with U.S. State Department, United Nations (UN) Chapter Seven Operations, and Africa Union (AU) Operations are highly desired.
Recent U.S. Military combat and/or PKO experience is preferred.
A strong background in OCONUS program operations focused on training foreign national military personnel and units preferred.
Prior experience in working with AU and/or UN Peacekeeping Missions strongly preferred.
Experience operating in hardship conditions is preferred.
