Job Description
This manager is responsible for supporting the safety and security of the CEO/Executive Management Team, senior level business leaders, and events which are sponsored or hosted by Bank of America Merrill Lynch. The position ultimately reports to an Executive responsible for the Executive Protection Program.
The Major Markets Manager will work with internal lines of business to formulate security plans and provide for assignment of security personnel to venues at which internal senior level leadership attend or for bank sponsored events which hosts clients, investors, or associates. The Major Markets Manager may travel both domestically and internationally to support selected events. The Major Markets Manager will insure that all necessary security measures are taken (in part based on risk
assessment and available intelligence) to insure the safety and security of the senior leadership team members, or each event.
This individual must possess a very professional demeanor, and exceptional interpersonal skills. The Major Markets Managers will also be responsible for investigations and management of threats directed toward Bank of America Merrill Lynch CEO and its Executive Management Team. The Major Markets Manager would collect and analyze threats and would develop mitigation strategies. Written and oral communication skills are a must. Extensive attention to detail is required in order to insure that all pertinent security aspects are considered. The Major Markets Manager must be able to identify and react to situations and events that should be addressed by the Executive Protection team.
Job Description
Manages security programs related to executive or event security. Skilled in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another varying in nature depending on workload. Participates in investigations of physical security incidents and other incidents as directed, provide timely documentation. Provide leadership, directly or through influence, to meet all objectives of the Executive Protection program and to address unplanned events. Review available information from line of business partners to plan the logistics surrounding CEO & senior management team travel, or events. Determine the requirements for deployment of internal and external security personnel for CEO and senior management protection while at events and facilitate. Orchestrate the logistics and travel arrangements for security personnel. Oversight of the executive residential alarm program. Interface with vendors for installation and maintenance of CEO and senior leader residential alarms and stand-by generators. Provide accurate security cost information for BAC Proxy statement. May perform occasional EP advance work. Provides protective driving as required.
Qualifications /Required Skills
Bachelor’s Degree Desired
Demonstrated investigative experience, preferably in law enforcement.
Experience in executive protection and event security.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Experience with inter-agency communication a plus.
Logistics and planning experience a plus.
Willing and capable of traveling with little notice.
Law Enforcement/Security experience in conducting independent sensitive and complex investigations.
Experience in cultivating multiple sources of information across many lines of business.
Experience in collecting and analyzing information for risk assessments and application of appropriate threat mitigation.
A comprehensive knowledge of current security and law enforcement techniques, issues, equipment, procedures, and security threats.
