Security Assurance Specialist

Location KS-Overland Park

Primary Purpose Responsible to the Global Security Manager for verifying that overall security operations are in accordance with legal/regulatory obligations and internal policy worldwide. Support management of risks to personnel, property and information arising from crime, civil disorder, natural disasters, technical failures, activism, terrorism, and acts of war in order to minimize their impact on business. Will support global security efforts, corporate investigations, risk analysis/security assessments, support B&V internal and external clients. Member of the Administrative Division, reporting to the Global Security Manager in Overland Park, Kansas
Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Management of contract security services and vendors for the Kansas City Metropolitan area , including quality control, scheduling, and auditing.
• Primary coordinator for the Global Security Operations Center in Overland Park, Kansas for procedures and operations.
• Responsible for the coordination of access control systems throughout the company and also for Closed Circuit Television Systems (CCTV)
• Primary coordinator for any travel management system vendor and also with emergency medical services vendor.
• Assist Human Resources with new professional orientation and electronic badging.
• Responsible for the maintenance and operations of emergency communications and tracking systems throughout the company. May recommend standard requirements for communications and tracking systems.
• Monitors system installation and maintenance. May assist with vendor research and recommendation.
• Assist the Global Security Manager, Regional Security Managers, Project Security Managers, and ESH&S managers in ensuring overall security operations are in accordance with legal/regulatory obligations
• Conduct investigations as directed by the Global Security Manager.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice or related area. Work experience may substitute for 2 years of education

Work Experience: Type of Exp: Minimum of 5 years security experience of which at least two years to be in the civilian environment
Preferred Job Qualifications • Advanced knowledge of access control, emergency communications and tracking systems, and CCTV systems
• Advanced ability to coordinate with vendors
• Intermediate knowledge of risk assessment processes
• Advanced knowledge of domestic government regulations
• Basic knowledge and awareness of company security business practices
• Intermediate knowledge of ASIS protection of assets manual
• Intermediate knowledge of company policies and associated vendor assets for travel
• Intermediate computer operating skills
• Advanced knowledge and awareness of current government security statutes, regulations, directives, and security policies and procedures
• Ability to apply physical security
• Ability to conduct security surveys and audits in accordance with industry best practices
• Intermediate investigating and reporting skills
• Intermediate training skills
• Advanced knowledge of local culture of assigned area
• Intermediate communication skills – oral and written
