Job Description
IDS International is searching for candidates to fill an immediate requirement for qualified trainers to support the African-led International Support Mission to Mali (AFISMA). Deployments will be to several different French-speaking countries in West Africa.

Duties & Description:
Civil Affairs Staff Trainers will deploy to French-speaking West Africa to prepare host country soldiers for their deployment to Mali.

Develop and conduct training programs to facilitate employee development.
Assist with the determination of training needs; most effective instructional method, teaching aids; and ensure training environment is conducive to learning.
Analyze, define, and prepare training materials to promote training classes; prepare training materials for use in facilitating comprehension and training retention.
Prepare the classroom environment for training including setting up audio-visual equipment, removing unneeded materials from the classroom, setting up materials for use during the program, removing all materials and equipment after training has concluded, and ensuring the facility is left in proper order.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
Candidates must have experience in Civil-Military Operations (CMO); former Civil Affairs personnel or civilians who have worked closely with the military in PKO are ideal. Candidates be willing to work OCONUS in complex and austere environments.
Former military or civilian equivalent in grades 03-05; E7-E9 or GS9-15
Understand UN CIMIC process
Know how to plan and conduct CMOC operations to support peacekeeping operations
Experience with Peacekeeping Operations (PKO)
Know how to plan and conduct civ-mil area surveys
Understands how to coordinate with NGOs, PVOs to effectively deliver humanitarian assistance and assist the civilian population in a post occupation, peacekeeping mission
Must be fluent and able to train in French
US citizenship or legal authorization to work in US
Submit to a background check and be Lautenberg cleared
Possess a passport that will be 6 months from expiration from end date of deployment
No chronic medical condition
Physical ability to deploy and work in austere environments in West Africa

Desired Knowledge and Experience:
Experience in Africa
Knowledge of the Northern Mali region
Understanding of Maghreb tribal issues

Language Requirement: French (Level 2 proficiency required).

Availability: Available to deploy on March 18, 2013.
