Corporate Security Director, Beachwood, OH
The Corporate Security Director will leverage broad business knowledge as well as extensive subject matter expertise in the security arena in order to provide strategic guidance to the organization on a wide array of issues, seeking innovative ways to identify and address organizational security risk in a manner that will support continued growth and innovation. This position is responsible for strategic planning, developing, directing, and coordinating effective preventive Corporate Security programs for DDR.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for developing, directing, and coordinating comprehensive, corporate-wide security programs to address a variety of issues including, privacy, physical security, investigations, forensics, and ensuring that programs meet appropriate regulatory guidelines.
Serves as the primary investigative resource for security issues across the organization.
Responsible for overseeing a network of vendors who safeguard the company’s assets as well as the physical safety of the employees and visitors.
Lead operational risk management activities to enhance the value of the company and brand .
Identify security and related goals, objectives and metrics consistent with corporate strategic plan.
Manage the development and implementation of corporate security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of security. Physical protection responsibilities will include asset protection, workplace violence prevention , access control systems, video surveillance , and more.
Work with executives to prioritize security initiatives and spending based on appropriate risk management and/or financial methodology.
Prepares risk and threat assessment reports and mitigation recommendations for the senior management team of DDR.
Maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies.
Oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches, and assist with disciplinary and legal matters associated with such breaches as necessary.
Work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent security audits.
Provides strategic advice and counsel to management throughout DDR on a variety of matters relating to employee and property safety and security.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior management team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
Should have experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation.
Must have strong working knowledge of pertinent law and the law enforcement community.

Requirements:
Education, Training and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree with 5 – 7 years of security experience. Successful record of identifying and leading complex security initiatives, policy and standards enforcement. Prior experience working as a corporate security manager or director for at least 5 years working in local, state, or federal law enforcement, intelligence, or military operations.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
Experience in developing and implementing security strategies, policies, procedures, and standards.
Experience in conducting complex investigations.
Must have a good understanding of industry standards for physical and procedural security.
Expertise in a wide array of security disciplines: vulnerability assessment, crisis management, executive protection, threat analysis, intelligence and counter terrorism, business continuity, disaster recovery, and investigations.
Experience with business continuity planning, auditing and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation.
Demonstrated long and short term strategic planning skills, with the ability to marshal resources and set priorities.
Proven leadership with organizational change and transformation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Protection Professional or equivalent certification preferred.
Fluent in Portuguese or Spanish and English.
