Position: Sec Consultant/Advisor
Purpose of role
Responsible for the implementation of Group Asset Protection standards and provision of security, travel safety and emergency response advice and support to Group activities
Responsibilities
• Assist with the implementation of the Group Security Standard across global operations and provide ongoing support to activities including conduct of security risk and vulnerability assessments.
• Assist the Group Crisis and Emergency Management Advisor with the implementation of Crisis Management and Emergency Response Standards, including the development and delivery of training and exercises.
• Assist with the development and implementation of robust security risk management and emergency response plans across operations and offices.
• Co-ordinate the development and implementation of a company-wide travel safety programme.
• Co-ordinate Asset Protection communications and information on the Company intranet site.
• Provide assurance against Group Asset Protection Standards including delivery of formal audit reports and continued support to track and close actions.
• Provision of functional support to Business Units and in country EHS and/or Security Managers.
• Monitor security and political risk levels in areas of specific interest.
• Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Skills and experience
• Experience of working in remote and hazardous environments, ideally with a focus on West Africa
• Experience working within the oil and gas or similar industry.
• Experience of working internationally with multi-cultural workforce – specific experience of working in Africa, again an advantage.
• Business risk assessment methodology at strategic and operational levels including detailed analysis of physical security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of operational and technical Security and Emergency Response management
• and experience developing and implementing technical designs and plans.
• Competent with appropriate computer packages and technological systems and tools to aid emergency response planning and training.
• Stakeholder management including demonstrable ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
