Senior Manager – Security and Incident Management, APAC

Purpose:
Reporting to the Vice President Global Security this position will ensure the provision of, and co-ordinate, the services necessary to protect, the employees and physical and brand assets of Newell Rubbermaid in APAC (Asia Pacific region) against loss, damage or harm caused by any incident as defined in the Incident Management Manual, including criminal or unlawful activity, and to ensure the provision of an investigative/inspectorate service on security matters as appropriate.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
To ensure appropriate security is implemented in all Business Units throughout APAC.
At any given time, to define minimum standards for the protection of all employees in APAC and all physical assets against any incident, other than normal trading activity, including criminal and unlawful activity, and to monitor Business Units compliance with support from Audit Services.

To assist in the training of Business Units within the region and ensure that local management are trained to the appropriate level in the recognition and management of major incidents.

Ensure the provision to employees of instruction, advice and training on all aspects of personal and travel security and that of group physical assets.

To manage the on-going procedures to handle specific threats against the company, its assets (including brands) or its employees e.g. kidnap or extortion.

To conduct and assure the provision of advice and guidance concerning reviews of physical security at company premises within the region and employees' residences as appropriate.

If requested ensure provision of a service to preserve the confidentiality of internal communications (e.g. sweeping against listening devices, liaison on IT security issues, security of telecommunications, etc.).

To be the focal point for the dissemination of information concerning activity which may affect the security and safety of the group or its employees.

Ensure that Business Units cultivate and maintain contacts, as appropriate, with law-enforcement agencies, government departments, etc., who may assist in attaining the overall function objective.

To partner with the local Business Units ensuring the preparation of adequate Business Continuity Plans, through the Risk Management process.

In conjunction with Audit Services investigate allegations of crime (e.g. embezzlement, corruption) or wrongdoing (e.g. activities counter to group policy) which may cause loss or harm to the company or employees.

To assist the Vice President Global Security in the preparation, implementation and testing of plans to handle and contain incidents of whatever nature as laid down in the Incident Management Manual.

To locally manage those outside service providers in any area of the business as described above.

To assist with all the above tasks in North America if necessary.


Qualifications/Education
Experience Required:
1. Master's degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position and more than 10 years experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public service or multi-national's security department, or Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in an area of study relevant to this position and more than 15 years experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public or multi-national's security department.
2. Must have demonstrated experience and exposure in the international security arena preferably APAC.
3. Counterfeit product investigation Experience
4. Certified Protection Professional and/or Certified Fraud Examiner certification preferred
