Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Instructor

Summary
Responsible for training U.S Army MOS 89D Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Sergeants and Staff Sergeants to perform the duties and responsibilities required of Advanced Level EOD Soldiers, and to enhance the knowledge and experience necessary for the students to effectively function as an EOD team leader and noncommissioned officer in an EOD MTOE Company. The position is not covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA) Davis Bacon Act (DBA), or union.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Training provided by the ALU includes classroom training and/or hands-on performance oriented training, simulation/virtual training and/or field exercise training.
Instruction will be conducted in accordance with TRADOC approved Programs of Instruction (POI) using course material, technical manuals and student workbooks that are provided by the government.
May be required to work a variety of schedules to accommodate the training requirements. Extenuating circumstances may necessitate last minute schedule changes/adjustments.

Non-Essential Duties:
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience
Required
Must have graduated from the NAVSCOLEOD with a minimum of 6 years EOD experience and must be qualified and proficient in all 89D Skill Levels, and must have graduated from the Advanced Leader Course.
Must have, at a minimum, four years of prior military service as a Warrant Officer or Senior NCO, with demonstrated experience level commensurate with WO assignment.
Must be knowledgeable of all applicable regulations and doctrine regarding military officer training. Must be able to work with minimum guidance.
Secret Clearance is required as a condition of hire.

Preferred
• Deployment experience (operational or combat).

Contractor personnel must be physically fit and able to perform duties requiring moderate lifting (not to exceed 50 lbs), long periods of standing, sitting or walking, and endure inclement weather conditions on occasion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.

The work performed under this contract is performed in support of PM IW SETA. Additional Qualifying Factors:
For those who have not previously instructed, the government will provide training to contract instructors for the Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC), the Support Cadre Training Course (SCTC), and the Small Group Instructor Training Course (SGITC).

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. May be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. As a condition of hire, must have Secret Clearance.
