EOD Technician
Job Description
Design and construct inert Improvised Explosive Devices for Counter IED training. Devices range from simple, open (uncontained) devices to large scale problems integrated into vehicles, buildings and shipping containers. After a period of approximately six months of on the job training, the candidate will be expected to develop scenarios and design and construct training devices to accompany the scenario with minimal supervision. This is not assembly line work. Week to week, the candidate will be independently developing and constructing new devices. 90 percent of the time is spent in construction and the other 10 percent working directly with customers.
Qualifications:
-Active duty EOD CENTCOM experience within the last 4 years
-Graduate of Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal or Hazardous Devices School
-Ability to maintain a SECRET clearance
-A background in basic electronics is desirable, as well as skills in carpentry and metal working
-Experience with micro controllers and C programming language are a plus
-Overnight travel is generally less than 2 weeks per year
-Standard work schedule of five, eight hour days or the flexiblity to work four, 10 hours days
