Advisor, Technical Security - Zimbabwe

Advisor, Technical Security
The Advisor, Technical Security is responsible for the optimum performance of the Murowa technical security systems, ensuring the integrity of the company's personnel and assets is maintained.

Responsibilities
·Manage the security systems at all work locations on a day to day basis. Including setting priorities, checking and maintaining systems at optimum levels as prescribed by the Group Technical manager, the Murowa Protection Services Manager, and the Diamond Security Standard;
·Coordinate and facilitate fault resolution/remediation steps to maintain system integrity and availability
·Research, implement, and manage technical security controls to effectively control high risk areas using technical security design opportunities;
·Provide strategic foresight (1 to 5 years) for the technical security infrastructure and when needed, create expenditure applications for major projects and upgrades, or planning for system degradation
·Submitting recommendations and applications to the Protection Services Manager for critical spares holding, replacement parts and equipment to ensure critical infrastructure has minimal downtime.
·Provide guidance and develop training plans to educate security staff in Physical & Technical Security fundamentals, to help security staff understand their role within the overall security function.
·Ensuring the sound, good governance of the technical systems.
·Develop and administer Technical Security Disaster Recovery strategies whereby:
o Accountabilities are defined
o Critical sensors and systems are defined
o Data backup procedure is established
o Disaster recovery procedures for critical sensors and systems are established

·Monitoring the performance of, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining, the Security Management System and the CCTV Management System
·Supervising technical contractors and SLA's ensuring their continued level of service is at the highest levels and they abide by the contract

·Managing the interface between Commercial Suppliers, Consultants, the Security Management Team, and Engineering Department

·Ensuring project assignments/ responsibilities are managed and coordinated to ensure engineering solutions comply with national and international regulatory requirements, standards and procedures, and in conjunction with Rio Tinto and Rio Tinto Diamond standards.

Qualifications and Experience
·An Electronics Technician Certificate including training related to CCTV and Video systems and supporting personal computer (PC) hardware and software
·Information, Communications & Technology experience would be highly regarded
·An Electronics Engineering Technology Degree is preferred
·Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in technical security systems management
·Experience in valuable commodity security (diamond/gold/precious mining/processing environment) is preferred although not required
·Project management training and experience is required
·A clean criminal record and responsible credit history is required


Knowledge and skills
·Specialized knowledge of technical, computerized and information security systems including CCTV, access control and intrusion detection systems
·Ability to develop documentation for knowledge management initiatives
·Knowledge of testing and development of approved continuous improvement assignments
·Knowledge of threat and risk assessment audit techniques
·Knowledge of change management methodologies and systems
·Excellent project management and analysis skills
·Knowledge of security program management and security legislation
·Excellent oral, written and active-listening skills
·Strong interpersonal skills
·Ability to work in high stress situations and resolve issues·Effectively present to a variety of groups including technical, professional, business and community groups.
