Responsibilities
· Support attainment of improvement targets in areas such as Surveillance, Human Resources, Investigations, Intelligence, Technical Systems, Access Control.
· Support the development of a formal road map for security improvement to period end 2013.
· Establish continuous review process for all security related policies to ensure alignment with Security Standards and joint ownership with other appropriate stakeholders within the operation and business,
· Establish a process for the definition and codification of critical security processes to enable quality management of activity and output for each critical functional area of security.
· Provide daily guidance to the supervisors in each critical functional area of security to ensure effective improvements are identified, internalized by those leaders, implemented and quality controlled through a formal change process.
· Support the enhancement of a business rhythm and effective routine for the security department.
· Support the establishment of high morale within the security function through outstanding leadership based upon example and commitment.
· Meet the objectives for training and developing awareness and a just culture within the non security workforce within high risk areas at each site.
· Support the delivery of various training programmes into each site and ensure that the required changes in security process, performance or behaviour are embedded post training.
· Support co-ordination and implementation elements of the Global Security strategic plan and local operational plan to achieve set objectives.
· Continually assesses security and wider operational practices during visits to local operations for inefficiencies / possible improvement opportunities and makes recommendations to enhance value delivery.
Candidate Profile
· Experience of working in an African cross cultural environment within a mining or O&G business.
· Must have a comprehensive understanding of the security function gained through diverse international practical experience.
· Experience of implementing or supporting a major change management process, and demonstrate requirements for success in this regard.
· Experience of project management and controls a distinct advantage.
· Must have moved though a development pathway in any environment that shows a commitment to continuous self-improvement and ambition, coupled with patience and a sense of humour.
· Highest levels of integrity and determination to achieve the objective.
· Relevant Tertiary Qualification, Bachelor’s Degree (Three Years), Higher Diploma in Security Management or recognized equivalent including ASIS CPP preferred
· Experience of an environment or business with high internal threat focus an advantage.
· Experience of operating as a member of a cross functional business leadership team an advantage
