SERE Instructor

Description:

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The SERE instructor is responsible to use selected role play, field and platform methods of instruction to conduct Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) training duties; remain current on emerging SERE/Personnel Recovery (PR) Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) by periodically reviewing applicable guidance and directives to complete assigned duties in accordance with customer, company and program manager (PM) requirements. The SERE instructor will maintain a positive team environment with the
customer, outside agencies and contract staff; understand and support the client’s processes, procedures and mission objectives. Use appropriate Physical Harassment Techniques to ensure student safety; maintain familiarity with PR/SERE publications/directives and PR event debriefs. The SERE instructor is responsible for safeguarding and accountability of NEK and client facilities and equipment; conduct administrative and logistical duties as assigned by section lead.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
The SERE instructor will possess the knowledge to use Microsoft® Office® applications and other selected programs; maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate a strong work ethic. Candidates will have previous military and/or operational experience and the ability to work independently with minimal guidance in a dynamic work environment. The candidate will be a graduate of a SERE level C course.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The preferred candidate should have one year instructional experience, an instructor training certificate or complete a skills review exercise and experience performing role play and platform methods of instruction.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possess a Secret level security clearance and be a U.S. Citizen.
