IED-D Mobile Training Team Instructor

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The IED-D mobile training team instructor will provide support to the Marine Corps Engineer School’s (MCES) Engineer Center of Excellence (ECOE). Duties will include but not be limited to the following: participate as core member of the Mobile Training Cadre and Train the Trainer Program; instruct large groups
of personnel at Camp Lejeune, NC and other CONUS/OCONUS locations on concepts, tactics, techniques and procedures for Improvised Explosive Device Defeat (IED-D), e. g. markers and indicators, operating Counter Radio-Controlled IED Electronic Warfare (CREW) Systems, and route clearance operations in accordance with established Training and Education Command (TECOM) Master Lesson Files (MLFs) and Programs of Instruction (POI); construct and emplace IED’s in accordance with current enemy and friendly Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs). The IED-D mobile training team instructor will develop and administer student exit surveys, instruction assessment forms and practical exams. The IED-D mobile training team instructor will serve as a member of the Counter Improvised Explosives Devices (CIED) curriculum development team, ensuring all MLFs are relevant and current and in accordance with the Systems Approach to Training (SAT), by participating in course content review boards (CCRBs), presenting technical IED-D data to other members of the curriculum development team, and conducting interviews with military personnel returning from deployment to receive feedback specific to IED-D methods being utilized in theater for incorporation into MLFs. The IED-D mobile training team instructor will be required to instruct and evaluate military personnel in a field environment, making on-the-spot corrections when necessary. The IED-D mobile training team instructor must also have the ability to tailor MLFs, emphasizing those aspects of the MLF germane to the theater of operation the military student will be deploying to. The IED-D mobile training team instructor must be able to operate independently with little supervision in the accomplishment of their duties and will be required to make decisions that have a significant impact on the schedule and funding of the program.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
The IED-D mobile training team instructor must be proficient with the following Microsoft (MS) Office applications: MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point. Candidates must be able to provide instruction while standing for prolonged periods of time up to 12 hrs per day. Candidates must be able to withstand the rigors of inclement weather to include extreme heat and cold; have the ability to carry up to 40 pounds of training equipment and emplace this equipment into the ground with digging devices. Candidates must possess exceptionally well-developed communication skills; ability to speak/instruct in front of large groups, express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely in both verbal and written format. Candidates must be capable of multitasking; working several complex and diverse tasks with simultaneous or near simultaneous deadlines in a dynamic fast-paced environment; be well-organized, punctual, reliable and conscientious, and capable of managing resources and schedules to affect deadlines. Candidates must be team oriented, and have an ability to positively interact with diverse groups of people to achieve common objectives and present a professional and neat appearance. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and two years of progressive military academic training and education experience. A high school diploma/GED and four years of progressive military academic, training and education experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree requirement.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The preferred candidate should have at least four years of progressive military academic, training and education experience and be a certified instructor. In lieu of certified instructor credentials, the candidate must have four years of military experience in positions of progressive leadership responsibility.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Substantial CONUS/OCONUS travel is anticipated with this position (up to 50%).
