Education experience
Ø Must have STCW 95 Certification
Ø Holds appropriate licenses and certificates as required by regulations.
Applications: Windows XP, including Word, Excel
Responsibilities
Ø Security Officer is directly responsible to the Chief Security Officer, and is responsible for the security of the vessel, her crew and passengers in accordance with US and IMO ISPS requirements.
Ø Perform gangway security duties.
Ø Perform various security inspections as per SMS.
Ø Perform night security patrol.
Ø Perform security guard duties.
Ø Participate and comply with the vessel’s safety and security standard in compliance with ISM / SMS / ISPS procedures.
Ø Perform luggage and cabin searches.
Ø Ensure compliance with US MTSA, USCG, and IMO ISPS regulations.
Ø Attend all department meetings.
Ø Responsible for their area’s safety, cleanliness, operation.
Ø Enhance security awareness and vigilance on board.
Ø Ensure the proper reporting of all security incidents.
Ø Detection and recognition of dangerous substances and devices.
Ø Mandatory attendance to all assigned shipboard drills and emergency activities.
Ø Create and implement ideas that will generate/increase revenue and/or reduce costs to the company.
Ø Other related duties as assigned.
