Chemonics International seeks a Washington-based security associate for our Afghanistan and Pakistan Security Management Unit that oversees and supports overseas security staff and security platforms. The unit works to ensure the safety and security of overseas staff, mitigate corporate liability and risk to personnel and assets, and facilitate the overall success of projects in Afghanistan and Pakistan. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
-Provide backstopping and personnel support for overseas expatriate and local, national direct-hire security staff
-Support security team recruitment
-Assist new business efforts through security purchase order development, subcontractor administration, invoice collection and review, Hostile Environment
Awareness Training contract matters, logistics coordination, and staff fielding processes
-Assist regional project management units with staff fielding processes, phone tracking and coordination, and gathering and archiving security assessments and reports from overseas teams
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
-Minimum two years of administrative or technically relevant work experience preferred
-Demonstrated corporate or overseas security experience a plus
-Experience living or conducting volunteer work in developing countries preferred
-Strong administrative skills, word processing abilities, and demonstrated experience with spreadsheets
-Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
-Strong organizational and work prioritization skills and attention to detail
-Demonstrated independent thinking and judgment and ability to solve complex problems
-Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
-Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
-Willingness to travel and work overseas a minimum of four weeks per year
-Fluency in English required; fluency in a foreign language a plus
