Position Summary
Kennel Master/Advisor will provide guidance and advice on tracking, tracking methods, tracking protocol and canine maintenance, accompanied by police or military escort.
Position Responsibilities
• Mentor local nationals and provide guidance and advice on tracking, tracking methods, tracking protocol and canine maintenance, accompanied by police or military escort
• Assess and determine proper tracking techniques based on terrain and weather conditions. Additionally individual will assist with planning and tracking operations.
• Individual and canine will be fluid and flexible in adapting to rapidly changing situations, under austere conditions, and in a hostile environment
• May be required to operate for extended periods in extreme climatic conditions while carrying an operational load
• Assist in operational tasks such as supervision of local kennel staff, logistics, administration and training
• Responsible for performing under and observing all applicable policies and regulations
• Ensure all records and project related paperwork is completed and filed correctly
• Promote and maintain a highly professional image for the company at all times
Essential Skills and Experience
• U.S. Citizen
• Be a graduate of the Basic Handlers Course, 341st Training Group, Lackland AFB, Texas
• Be a graduate of the Supervisors Course, 341st Training Group, Lackland AFB, Texas
• As an alternative, may have attended an advanced trainer’s course highlighting Training Problem Management.
