Aviation Security Expert – West Africa
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aviation Security Expert to join our West Africa team. This role is responsible for providing technical support for the implementation of ECOWAS AVSEC regulations, coordinating with national and regional stakeholders, and delivering advisory services that enhance aviation security across the region.
Role Objectives
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support in implementing the ECOWAS AVSEC Regulation
Coordinate alignment of national regulations with regional AVSEC standards
Monitor and evaluate AVSEC activities
Develop technical tools, training programs, and advisory services for regional institutions (BAGASOO, BAGAIA, E-RSOO)
Support legislative, infrastructure, and regulatory compliance initiatives
Prepare mission plans and reports for Hart management and stakeholders
Requirements:BSc in Air Transport, Engineering, Aviation Security and Safety, or related discipline
ICAO-certified in Aviation Security Training Packages (Basic, Cargo & Mail, Crisis Management, Security Management, National AVSEC Inspectors, etc.)
Minimum 5 years’ relevant aviation sector experience, preferably as an AVSEC inspector or in airports, airlines, or air traffic services
Experience in the ECOWAS region; ECOWAS nationality required
Be fluent in one of ECOWAS’ official languages (English, French, or Portuguese) and have working knowledge of a second.
Working knowledge of ICAO documents, Chicago Convention, and AU aviation programs
