Purpose of the Role

The Security Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and operations. Reporting to both the Support Services Manager and the Regional Security Manager, this role involves overseeing all aspects of security in the field, managing relationships with external security stakeholders, and collaborating with regional and local security teams to align with the company's security strategy. The Security Supervisor will be responsible for guard services, patrols, and security measures within and around the company's concession area.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Duties

Includes but not limited to:
• Field Security Oversight: Oversee and manage all security aspects of the exploration project in the field, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, equipment, and assets.
• External Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain productive relationships with external security stakeholders, including the Gendarmerie detachment and other relevant security partners.
• Collaboration with Regional and Local Teams: Work closely with regional and local security teams to align security strategies, share information, and ensure a cohesive approach to security measures.
• Guard Services and Patrols: Manage and coordinate guard services and patrols within the company's concession area, ensuring a visible security presence and timely response to security incidents.
• Security Protocols: Develop and implement security protocols, procedures, and guidelines in line with industry best practices and company standards.
• Incident Response: Lead and coordinate security incident response efforts, conducting investigations when necessary, and implementing corrective actions.
• Access Control: Implement and manage access control measures to secure entry points and monitor access to sensitive areas.
• Security Training: Provide security training and awareness programs to company personnel, ensuring that all employees understand and adhere to security policies.
• Security Reporting: Maintain accurate security records and reporting, documenting incidents, patrols, and security-related activities.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and crisis management protocols.
• Security Technology: Utilize security technology and systems, such as CCTV, alarms, and access control systems, to enhance security measures.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct regular security risk assessments, identify potential threats, and recommend mitigation strategies.

• Participate in develops policies and procedures relating to Security development.
• Ensure that direct reports and respective work areas are in compliance with Health and Safety policies and regulations.
• Ensure direct reports have the necessary training, skills, knowledge, and tools to do their jobs safely. Provides support to all areas on issues that jointly involve production and safety.
• Observe operations to detect the violation of safety and security regulations and compile safety and security records.
• Assist in accident and incident investigations and ensure that recommendations are implemented by agreed upon dates.

• Work is performed under limited direction according to established methodologies and processes.
• Problem resolution is within established guidelines and procedures, requiring the use of judgement to determine which of many methods are applicable in any given situation.
• Work is complex involving routine problems or studies.

• Ensures projects in the unit or area are completed on-time, on-budget, and to required standards. Initiates, implements, evaluates, and modifies own projects and plans in response to needs. Supervises and directs the work of a support or technical work unit.

Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field
• A minimum of seven years' experience in security roles, with a focus on field security and external stakeholder management. Three years personally serving at increasing levels of prominence and influence within a contracted guard force; ideally having worked up through the chain-of-command to at least a supervisor position. Or, having previously served in a force securing extractable minerals operations; and at least two years of service as a senior NCO or Officer in the military / Gendarmerie or Police.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with a wide variety of site HODs, Business Partners (BP) and government representatives (especially Gendarmerie), in a highly professional manner, displaying tact and diplomacy when needed.
• Experience in private security contract management.
• Knowledge of security regulations, laws, and best practices.
• Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively in French and English language, both verbally and in written form.
• Skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook and Excel) to record and produce information.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in security technology and systems.
• Experience in emergency response planning.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure working environment.
• Strong capacity to operate in full autonomy. Proven resilience.
