Candidate will report directly to the Site Supervisor. This position will be based at one of three locations in Somalia. The duration of this contract will be approximately three and half years. Responsibilities include:
Assists Project Manager and Site Supervisor in the development of site-specific Safety Plan
Responsible for risk assessments and managing health and safety issues.
Following all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Maintain health and safety procedures for different types of building construction using various materials such as wood, steel, concrete, brick, stone, etc.
Develops safety, health, and environmental plans (i.e., HAZMAT/HazWaste plans IAW site protocols and HN laws and regulations), procedures, monitoring, and reporting methods.
Conducts incident investigations and prepares incident reports as required (works with TO PM/Site Supervisor and affected party).
Conducts periodic SDS, safety signage, and safety practices performance and compliance.
Manages annual Safety & Health and Waste Management Plan updates.
Conducts daily Health and Safety toolbox meetings with construction teams.
Assists with site security and safe harboring of all material and equipment.
Requirements – Desired Qualifications:

Excellent knowledge in both the written and spoken English languages.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to operate in austere environment for protracted periods.
