GGGI (Global Green Growth Institute) is seeking to recruit a security advisory consultant to develop a global safety and security policy for the organization.

Objective Of The Assistant:

GGGI seeks to recruit a security advisory consultant to develop a global safety and security policy for the organization. The overall objective of the policy is to outline the overarching approach for ensuring the safety and security of GGGI personnel, providing the clear responsibilities of individuals and the organization to prevent, prepare for and respond to security and safety risks.

The policy should clearly outline the purpose, scope and application of the policy and provide key policy statements which contain the international security and safety standards that GGGI must adhere to. The policy must indicate how to assess the security and safety risks in each county where the organisation has operations and the principles of security and safety risk management.

The assignment requires a proactive approach, and the consultant will be required to engage with and interview senior management staff on expectations and key elements of the policy. Select interviews will also occur with 3-4 country-level staff per region to understand the current local security and safety risks and risk management measures to learn about the variety of risks GGGI is facing globally and to understand if already local solutions and measures have been implemented.

Expertise Required

Academic qualifications:
Advanced Degree (MSc or MA) in international development, military sciences, law enforcement or related fields is required.
Qualifications or specializations in relevant fields such as risk, security and emergency management,.

Experience:
At least eight (8) years of experience working in international or national security to include security planning and preparedness, coordination, risk assessment and management, safety and security training and the development of policy and procedures.
Proven experience in working in the area of safety and security in a fragile/conflict environment ·
Demonstrated leadership experience, including contingency planning and crisis management.
Demonstrated experience liaising with relevant international and national organizations such as the UN, law enforcement agencies, local communities etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with and influence stakeholders.
Outstanding written English language skills and spoken English is required, professional proficiency in a second language such as Spanish or French is a plus.
Excellent analytical and synthesis skills are required.
