Major Responsibilities:
Training Development & Delivery
1. Deliver and/or coordinate the delivery of READI courses, both remotely and in-person, at the request of Regional Safety & Security Directors;
2. Solicit feedback on the current design and delivery methodologies of READI courses from participants and other field and regional team members;
3. Collaboratively implement corrective and improvement measures to the course design and delivery in response to received feedback;
4. Support newly graduated READI instructors in the delivery of READI courses, both remotely and in-person;
5. Ensure the incorporation of intersectional training practices in the delivery of all READI courses.
Humanitarian Access and Security Risk Management Support to Country Programs

Major Responsibilities:
Training Development & Delivery
1. Deliver and/or coordinate the delivery of READI courses, both remotely and in-person, at the request of Regional Safety & Security Directors;

Humanitarian Access and Security Risk Management Support to Country Programs
Provide security risk management support, both remotely and in-person, at the request of Regional Safety & Security Directors;
Assume interim or acting capacity in the absence of critical position holders of Country Security Leads;
Deploy to humanitarian emergencies when they arise to provide security risk management support to emergency team members;
Carry out security risk assessments in line with IRC methodology on a routine basis;
Support the development and implementation of humanitarian access strategies and approaches tailored to local contexts in field sites, and include overarching community engagement components;
Coach, train, supervise and mentor direct-report staff, including communicating clear expectations, setting annual performance objectives, providing regular and timely positive and constructive performance feedback, and providing documented semi-annual performance reviews.
Job Requirements:
Education: Candidates with an undergraduate university degree or higher, technical degree, certification in related field, and/ or significant applicable lived experience will be preferred.
Work Experience:
· A minimum of two year’s experience delivering training in high-risk contexts, with the ability to develop, implement, facilitate, and impart learning to a wide range of audiences, both remotely and in-person drawing on a range of adult learning tools and approaches.
· A minimum of five years professional security experience, three of which non-profit or NGO work experience within international humanitarian programs.
o Roles having included responsibilities for planning, organizing and implementing humanitarian security operations in the field.
o Lived experience of dynamic, insecure environments, small team leadership, conflict resolution and negotiation preferred
· At least eight years of proven management experience in the field
o Including management of people and projects, as well as taking part in senior management groups and influencing operational decision-making
· Having worked in accordance with and in understanding of the humanitarian principles
· Analytical experience gaining a precise and impartial understanding of local, regional and international dynamics, and providing dynamic briefings of historical and unfolding security, political, and cultural events
· Experience having designed and implemented physical security measures in both benign and high risk settings
· Some regional experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent skills in inclusive adult learning and development are essential;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as, an overall ability to be clear, inclusive, and concise in all communications; with an ability to carry out analysis, express ideas, and deliver advice persuasively, to a range of internal and external stakeholders

- Familiarity with physical security measures such as CCTV, safe room design, perimeter security, and access control, as well as a strong understanding of communications technology and procedures.
- Situational and contextual awareness, with an ability to effectively represent the IRC at forums and with external stakeholders
- Solid ability to provide team-building, coaching, and development for staff as well as encourage cross-functional collaboration and cooperation
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills, with experience in conflict resolution
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite;
- Ability to lead and work through change in a proactive and positive manner;
- Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal; in addition to excellent language skills in at least one or more of the following: French, Spanish, Arabic, Pashto, Dari.
Working Environment:
· The position can be based remotely in any of the approved IRC locations with up to 60% travel required;
· Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace they can effectively complete their work from during regularly scheduled work hours.
