Protective Security (PS) has responsibility for managing physical risk and a number of additional security related responsibilities. Physical Risk arises from a number of different sources which are primarily criminal in nature or intent – armed robbers, opportunist thieves, organized gangs, terrorists, social or political activists, vandals etc. Protective Security also manages a number of activities which fall outside this including executive/close protection, event security, traveler security, personal risk assessments, kidnap and ransom.


Physical Security Management : Principal Accountabilities


The jobholder is responsible for ensuring safe and secure working conditions for employees, customers and visitors to any HSBC premises in the country. He is responsible for risk assessment and the operational management of:
• Protective Security team and associated providers
• Physical barriers, Intruder Alarms and CCTV systems.
• Access control systems and procedures.
• Manned guarding
• Physical Security Risk Assessments and Security Site Survey (HO buildings & branches)
• Security incident and appropriate escalation.
• Internal investigation (theft, harassment)
• Missing employee investigation
• Lockdown procedures and tests
• Electronic Counter Measure Sweeps
• Travellers security
• Protection of external events
• Close protection for executives or exposed employees on particular circumstances

The jobholder must also ensure on a permanent basis:
• Efficient management of allocated budgets and cost control
• Compliance with Group Security Policies and adequate reporting standards
• Regulatory and technological watch
• Strong relationships with the police and anti-terrorist intelligence services
• Effective overview of current or emerging criminal tends
• Contacts with security & safety industry bodies

He integrates or participates in meetings or working groups on security and protection themes organized by the Ministry of Interior, the French Banking Federation, the CIT security commission.
And all other related functions.

Conditions
Certifications, Qualifications & Experience (Minimum requirements of the Job)

Education
Equivalent studies level to Master I or II

Experience
• Experience in risk assessment is a requirement
• Any previous banking, risk industry or law enforcement experience is essential.

Knowledge and skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• A good command of MS Office software and common IT tools is essential.
• Good ability to use Internet search engines
• Fluent French (written and spoken) and a very good level in English is essential
