As the Health Safety and Staff Wellbeing Adviser, you will be responsible for the below:
Specific responsibilities
Develop/Improve Country Office HSS risk management processes and systems by ensuring Country Management Group are guided and capacitated for safety and security leadership
Lead a process to ensure NRC in Yemen is compliant to NRC’s Health Safety and Security (HSS) policies, standards and procedures. This includes developing, implementing and regularly reviewing context specific HSS risk management systems and procedures within all NRC operations in Yemen, contingency and medivac plans
Conduct ongoing context analysis and ensure CMG is kept updated on relevant events, dynamics, evolving trends and risks
Build an HSS risk management culture at all levels of the organization
Lead on building crisis management preparedness and act as advisor to the Crisis and Incident response teams (Global/Regional/Country Teams), taking leadership as delegated
Ensure learning is gathered and incorporated into NRC’s operations

Generic professional competencies:
Minimum 3 years of international experience from working as a senior Security Manager in a humanitarian/recovery context
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Valid driver’s license
Context related skills, knowledge and experience:
