Background

The purpose of this project is to provide logistic and administrative services to USAID/Office of U.S Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) staff, USAID/DRC Mission staff, and authorized United States Government (USG) temporary duty (TDY) personnel while they are traveling primarily in North and South Kivu provinces in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for official business. Logistic and administrative support is required, particularly for the care and maintenance of OFDA/USAID DRC Mission-owned vehicles based in Goma (North Kivu) and Bukavu (South Kivu). The purpose of this project is to ensure that USAID personnel are able to travel to monitor USAID-funded projects and humanitarian assistance and maintain important UN and INGO humanitarian contacts.
Position

Macfadden seeks a Logistics Security Manager for the above-named project. The Logistics Security Manager leads in ensuring all vehicles are maintained, and drivers are vetted and available for each assignment. Works directly with vendors in the maintenance and security of vehicles in Goma and Bukavu. Manages all communications and radio equipment and oversees safety of all staff, consultants and drivers.



Position Length

1 year with possibility of renewal


Responsibilities (but not limited to):

Ensures all vehicles are maintained. Conducts standards-based vehicle scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, create SOPs and checklists for fleet maintenance.
Ensures drivers are vetted and available for each assignment.
Works directly with vendors in the maintenance and security of vehicles in Goma and Bukavu.
Manages all communications and radio equipment.
Oversees safety of all staff, consultants and drivers.
Ensures the security of personnel and government furnished equipment (GFE).
Provides vehicle tracking, oversight of vehicle maintenance, drivers and basic inventory of parts
and supplies.
Provides travel, logistics and administrative support to requested travel and vehicle maintenance
requests.
Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Degree in logistics, security, geopolitics, or related field preferred.
10+ year of security management experience in the DRC. Experience working in Eastern DRC is required.
Good written and speaking skills in French and English.
Ability to work in rapidly evolving and conflict prone areas.
