Overview

Under the supervision of Armament Systems Lead, performs a full range of work involved in the troubleshooting, repair, service and maintenance of small arms and other infantry weapons while performing Field and Sustainment-Level Initial, In-Process, verification and Final Inspections of equipment and process outputs.

Responsibilities
This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
Performs Field and Sustainment Level Maintenance on all types of military Small Arms and Artillery equipment (pistols, handguns, rifles, machine guns, chain guns, mortar systems, towed howitzers and related sub-systems).
Performs borescope, pullover gauging of gun tubes; and update records IAW applicable technical regulations.
Determines the nature and extent of repairs required; disassembles and examines parts and assemblies for serviceability; replaces parts and assemblies as required.
Accepts, troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs and completes documentation of work orders.
Performs initial, in-process and final inspections.
Must have effective communication, customer service, interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills.
Performs physical and serial number inventories of Arms, Ammunition and Explosives (AA&E) and other sensitive items.
Must be knowledgeable of Physical Security Requirements for AA&E IAW ARs 190-11 and 190-13
Must be knowledgeable of Key and Lock Control procedures IAW AR 190-51
Must be knowledgeable of the supply control requirements of AA&E IAW AR 710-2 and DA Pam 710-2-
Performs other duties as required.


Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma.
Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination:
The State of Kuwait (and certain airlines) now require proof of COVID-19 Vaccination. The definition of fully vaccinated is that you’ve: 1.) received a vaccine that is recognized by the governing entity and is either a.) Two doses of Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine b.) Two doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine c.) Two doses of Moderna Vaccine (or) d. One dose of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine, and 2.) Two weeks elapsed after the final dose was administered, which is either one or two doses depending on brand of the vaccination. You must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination to qualify for this position.


Experience:
Three years experience in various types of small arms repair

Must possess a High-level organizational and planning skills to ensure workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
Must possess excellent knowledge of HAZMAT control measures for Tritium, DU and other environmental hazards
Ability to read, analyze, understand and interpret reports, wiring diagrams/schematics drawings, blueprints and documents.
Knowledge of electronic and mechanical principles and concepts.
Ability to operate electronic, electrical and mechanical test equipment.
Knowledge of operation, testing and maintenance of specific types of weapons systems.

Working Conditions:
Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.


Physical Requirements:
Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
