Primary Function
The Heavy Equipment Airfield Ops Senior Operator - Sweeper, reporting to the Heavy Equipment Airfield Ops Foreman in the Mission Support Group is responsible for driving, operating and light servicing of an airfield sweeper and performing other related grounds maintenance tasks on the airfield as required. Actively support and uphold the Company's stated vision, mission, and values.

Responsibilities

Safely operates airfield/street sweepers, including Tymco and Schwarze models.
Maintains and repairs runways, taxiways, and ramp areas including plowing snow, weed removal, patching, etc. to ensure safe operation by airport users.
Reads and interprets instructions and documentation
Plans work activities
Moves materials, tools and equipment to and from work locations in support of maintenance activities
Loads and unloads vehicles as needed
Performs a variety of other skilled tasks including the operation of light to heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
Operates various other pieces of heavy equipment such as bobcats and front-end loaders, graders, forklifts and split-gear haul truck and dump trucks.
Acts as a backup to the heavy equipment team to perform other required duties as assigned
Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

Minimum four (4) years of experience performing similar tasks on a flight line.
Previously held a flight line badge on a military installation, with knowledge of operating on an airfield
Prior Military and or AFCAP/LOGCAP experience
Vocational/Specialized Training
Experience working with diverse cultures and various trade skills in an austere, hazardous environment
Ability to fluently read/write and speak English.

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma / GED equivalent is preferred
Class B Commercial Operator License (CDL) preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent organization skills
Proven ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
Strong initiative
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
