Terms & Conditions:
12-month contract based in Erbil, €4,550 per month salary, 4 days annual leave per month and 3 days of R&R every 3 months (90 days) with an allowance of €750 each R&R cycle, housing, global medical coverage (excluding USA) and USD $200,000 AD&D coverage.
Job Summary:
The Training Manager oversees the development and delivery of training courses to assist both national and international NGOs in organisational safety and crisis management, as wellas personal risk mitigation and humanitarian access. In contrast to many training positions, a Training Manager is also responsible for monitoring and advising the operational application of all trainings on an ongoing basis.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in NGO safety and security, relevant pedagogical expertise, be outgoing, inquisitive and detail oriented, and have significant experience in facilitating trainings. He/she will have the ability to adapt training to the prevailing context. The ideal candidate will above all else share organization’s commitment to humanitarian principles.

Responsible for the development and delivery of both new and established training courses, such as the Introduction to Safety and Security, Essentials of NGO Security Management, Advanced NGO Safety Management, Travel Safety, Humanitarian Negotiations and Crisis Management courses; as well as the development and implementation of other context specific courses.
When requested, conduct an adequate training needs assessment to identify additional training needs and help to establish an organization training strategy in Iraq.

Constantly review and adapt to the context developed training materials as necessary and identify and suggest other training areas where organization can add sustainable and operational value to NGO practice.
Design and incorporate monitoring and evaluation tools to enhance and contribute to organization’s quality approach.
Maintain a thorough and accessible database of training and training participant data.
Assist senior management staff in the day to day running of the country programme and provide support to other operations where required.
Comply with organization service delivery standards and procedures.

Mandatory Requirements
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Well-developed project and team management skills and standards.
Experience in design and development of safety training curriculums for NGOs.
Demonstrable understanding of humanitarian safety practices and principles.
Commitment to humanitarian principles and values.
Independent drive and ability to operate and sustainably manage staff and teams under strict systems and deadlines.
At least 1 year working in conflict affected environments.
Familiarity with the philosophy, priorities, and principles of humanitarian NGOs and NGO approaches to security management.
A commitment and engagement with organization’s humanitarian mandate
Ability to excel in a multicultural work environment.
Desirable
Recent experience working in Iraq and demonstrable understanding of the context.
