Role Requirements
Essential
Only FVEY National Candidates (AUS, NZ, USA, UK, CAN, US) will be considered for this role.
The SOM must have:
At least five (5) years’ experience in operations management overseeing planning and protective security operations, including static guarding, personal security, intelligence, threat assessment and CPP.
Previous military or law enforcement experience of not less than ten (10) years with an excellent record of conduct. Must not have a criminal record and must not have been dishonorably discharged from service or convicted under the Defence Force Disciplinary Act (1982) (or equivalent) or terminated from employment.
Must hold or be eligible to obtain and be in the process of obtaining relevant FVEY National Security clearance at the level of Secret. – Individuals who fail to obtain or retain will be subject to removal.
Excellent leadership skills.
Experience with risk management including risk management planning and qualitative risk analysis.
Experience with training and managing operational teams and excellent communication skills, with experience in multiple levels of communication between various levels of management, internal and external.
Desirable skills also include:
Previous experience working in a diplomatic environment
Previous in-country experience in a similar capacity and
A working knowledge of Arabic (Iraqi dialect).
Services
Services provided by the Contractor shall be those typically expected for someone in the Position and include, but not be limited to the provision of ops support to ensure the safety and security of all client staff and other personnel who come under duty of care of Australian Embassy, Baghdad. Services the Contractor can expect to carry out, would include:
The Security Operations Manager (SOM) is responsible for delivering operational aspects of the Contract including:
Planning and coordinating all operations and movement of vehicles, personnel and material
Synchronise security operations
Information management
Coordinating mobile security operations
Managing the operations room and communications Service Provider personnel
Coordinating Situational Awareness Team (SAT) effort
Controlling emergency response/incident management
Coordinating training (induction and continuation)
Managing all leave cycles for Service Provider Personnel and managing venue reconnaissance database in consultation with the Intelligence Analyst.
Undertaking any other direction or reasonable request given by appropriate GardaWorld Management team in accordance with GW Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.
