Sr. Operations Manager - Somalia

Location: Mogadishu, Somalia

We are looking for Sr. Operations Manager to be based in Mogadishu Somalia.

Responsibilities:
The Sr. Operations Manager is responsible for, but not limited to the following: 
• Lead all operational activities 
• Advises effective methodology of operations and gets involve from the inception of any new project starting from its tendering stage. 
• Responsible for ensuring unsafe work is stopped immediately. 
• Develop plans for succession, training, replacement, rotation and promotion of all staff as appropriate 
• Assures that an effective working relationship with bargaining unit employees are maintained, and contract commitments are consistent with accepted practice and customer-focused, business philosophy. 
• Manage relationships with third party contractors and ensure all contractual obligations are met and Scopes of Work are completed. 
• Oversee activities subject to Operational risk assessments 
• Directs the coordination and general supervision of all Damage Prevention across all operating Regions. Establishes and monitors compliance targets, develops reports and takes actions to ensure compliance across all areas of responsibility. 
• Understand Process Safety Performance Indicators. 
• Oversees scheduling, quality assurance, and safety on the job site and to ensure safety & compliance with all specifications. 
• Carry out and record random site inspections and safety audits with the HSSE Supervisor 
• Develops and maintains ongoing programs to increase operating efficiencies, promote safety, identify best practices, and reduce, operating and maintenance and capital construction cost. 
• Actively participate in the project development, construction, safety reviews, pre-commissioning and commissioning stages 
• Approve all work on Safety Critical Equipment. 
• Assist with the development of and adherence to all Plans, Procedures and other documentation covering all aspects of the operation to meet the required operational, safety, quality, security, environmental, social, financial and performance standards. 
• Lead all Incident Reporting and Investigations to meet legal and corporate requirements. 
• Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements associated with the storage and distribution. 
• Support as required in managing inspections by the Competent Authority and in managing actions arising.

 Experience Required: 
• Have a minimum of 10 years’ Oil and Gas experience, with specialist technical knowledge of fuels, Terminal Operations, Jetty Operations, Cargo Documentation, Logistics, Project Management, Construction, Commissioning. 
• Previous managerial experience in an oil & gas/maritime/fuels/logistics field minimum of 5 years. 
• Have a relevant experience working in the Middle East and/or African Region.  


Educational Background: 
• Hold a recognized Degree in Engineering or associated operational field. 
• NEBOSH / IOSH Certified 
• Certified Terminal Loading Master. 
• Project Management Certification (PMP).
