Wood is looking for a Security Lead to join our team in Iraq on a 6 Weeks ON / 6 Weeks OFF rotation
The principal purpose of the Security Lead is to provide a secure working environment for all customer staff and contractors working in the asset, ensuring all necessary security provisions, procedures, and protocols are intrinsically linked and consistent with the customer Security Strategy. The role encapsulates elements of all customer Security Department disciplines and must be able to work autonomously to achieve stated security intent from the Security Manager.
The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing, updating and executing the Security Strategy; additionally, provide onsite security interface and management oversight with Mode 1, 2, and 3 contractors within the designated area of responsibility.
Strategic liaison with both OPF and customer security ensuring standards and procedures are implemented, concurrently conducting OTJ training, supervise and mentor all customer staff.
Intrinsically linked with Project Managers / Leads to ensure relevant security measures are incorporated into all project works closely monitoring and advising on security best practice throughout the project life cycle.
Coordinate and interface with all customer contractors / vendors to ease delays caused by access issues.
Responsible for daily onsite security provision of asset and new facilities within the designated area of responsibility as they develop.
Provide the Security Manager and Project Security Coordinator with a viable and swift execution of customer security provisions, procedures, and protocols.
Provide seamless synergy through regular liaison with OPF within the designated area of responsibility to enhance the overall security milieu in line with the customer Security Integration strategy.
Onsite security interface and management oversight with Mode 1, 2, and 3 contractors supporting the asset
Develop, lead and implement access control procedures educating staff on how to manage the asset in line with customer deter and detect policies and procedures.
Lead customer security shift staff and supervise the adoption and application of CCTV operators, Fido operators, UVSS operators badging staff, search staff.
Supervise and mentor search and badging procedures to ensure best practice, in line with customer Access Control Lead strategy.
Coordinate with Security Integration Lead on customer and OPF training and mentoring requirements.
Implement periodic and auditable security training and scenario based exercises
Interface with customer Security Infrastructure Supervisor on technical equipment and technical upgrades within the designated area of responsibility thus ensuring suitable security measures are planned for and meet customer best business practice.
Coordinate with customer Access Control Lead the administration of all new employees and visitors.
Conduct Security audits to ensure all contracted Security meets required customer Minimum Operating Security Standards and aligned with the customer Security Audit strategy
Ensure that Security strategy is implemented and adhered to throughout the area of operations and that the customer Security Manager’s intent is realized and actioned accordingly.
Maintain a focused professional relationship with customer and OPF that promotes and delivers acceptable / fit for purpose security requirement.
Encourage and promote a positive security culture, which develops individual and collective competencies in the roles and responsibilities of all those associated with customer .
Ensure equipment and system husbandry is at the forefront of maintaining productive day to day operations.
Maintain OJT training, as required, or as part of a fixed training syllabus.
Instill and promote a professional attitude and bearing amongst both customer security and the contracted security.
Coordinate large numbers of workers both customer and contractors requiring access daily.
Facilitate the development of security provisions within new facilities.
Management of security standards and provision of the associated contractor camps supporting the new construction.
Skills / Qualifications
A high caliber security professional with experience of working in hostile environments (Iraq or similar high-risk country) in order to understand the scope of security required.
Knowledgeable in access control to CNI or O&G facilities.
A motivated individual with high levels of energy, excellent team working skills, a positive attitude, and when required, be prepared to stretch personal and business goals.
Must have excellent communication skills – both written and oral. Culturally sensitive, diplomatic and capable of liaising with people at all levels.
Industry experience in Security, or policy development and project management (5+ years)
Experienced and able to operate effectively within a multicultural setting, under pressure and able to meet demanding timelines.
Knowledge of application of risk based Security management principles.
Experience in ACS, integrated security systems and surveillance platforms.
Is a volunteer to deploy to, and operate in, Iraq
