Job Summary
The Physical Security Coordinator and Escort (PSC Escort) will escort laborers during all phases of physical security upgrade and maintenance projects within, and the areas surrounding, Chief of Mission compound property.
Principal Accountabilities
Schedules and coordinates maintenance and repair of any physical security infrastructure and specialized equipment, such as drop arms, hydraulic wedge barriers, and dozens of other specialized physical and technical security products.
Communicates with local vendors to arrange for installation and repair work. Brings attention to any security deficiencies that require mitigation.
Abides by all US Government (USG) contracting policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Collects and submits security packages for local vendors.
Knowledge & Skills
Fluency in speaking Dari.
Ability to communicate verbally in English (S2/R0).
Must have the ability to acquire and maintain RSO security certification equivalent to Embassy locally employed staff.
Knowledge of physical security infrastructure and / or mechanics.
Prefer knowledge in one of the following: construction, electrical, mechanical. and structural engineering.
Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of experience in construction or a mechanical repair field.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
CONUS:
Generally, works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions
OCONUS:
Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions
