Job Summary
The Monitor / Escort monitors actions of Local Nationals and Third Country Nationals (LN/TCNs) within area of responsibility.
Principal Accountabilities
Logs in and out all LN/ TCN contractors and counts personnel before and after they perform duties; notifies appropriate personnel of how many people and vehicles are being escorted.
Makes contact with LN/ TCN personnel at designated entry facility after they are processed for entry and receive their exchange badges; provides and briefs them on rules and procedures.
Monitors LN/ TCN work until it is completed for the day, the work zone has been purged by trained Force Protection military personnel, all exchange badges (if applicable) have been returned and secured, and all LNs/
TCNs have exited base and/or returned to camps
Ensures LNs/ TCNs do not bring onto the base any type of US or Coalition military or Physical Training (PT) uniforms, writing devices and media, cellular telephones, mobile radios, beepers, pagers, or any other type of communication device, still cameras or video recording devices, and contraband (weapons, drugs, etc.)
Maintains sight of all vehicles and personnel when performing LN/ TCN Monitor duties; does not distance oneself further than 50 meters from all LNs/ TCNs (this is considered the “Span of Control”, a 360-degree circumference around the LN/TCN Monitor, defined as “The area to which one can reasonably be expected to physically see all LN/ TCN personnel and respond accordingly”)
Ensures all LN/TCN personnel being monitored drive with headlights and four-way flashers on, following all posted speed limits; rides in last vehicle when monitoring LNs/ TCNs in separate vehicles; or escorts LNs/ TCNs according to other specified requirements
Provides for safety and welfare of oneself and monitored personnel (such as evacuating to protective shelter in case of attack)
Maintains an alert state of readiness and is prepared to properly respond to any situation that may occur; alerts appropriate personnel of any suspicious behaviors or comments of LNs/ TCNs
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, as well as convey information effectively.
Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Valid US drivers license and international drivers license
Must have ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret security clearance.
Experience & Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum two (2) years general work experience.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
