PAE Government Services, Inc is seeking a Logistics Manager for its USG Contract in Somalia.
Individual must pose knowledge in Logistics to include Maintenance Support, Procurement & supply, Shipping, Inventory Management and warehouse operations. Must have prior administrative and field experience to oversee and supervise all aspect of the daily logistics support for the operations.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee the execution of given tasks from start to finish beginning with the issue of a Purchase Order including being responsible for weekly updates, updating procurement tracking schedule, working with embassy officials, clearance, delivery and handover.
Develop a logistic plan to accommodate all project needs.
Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
Develop risk management plan to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.
Plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services.
Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation or warehouse activities, safety performance, or logistics quality management.
Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers.
Review global, national, or regional transportation or logistics reports for ways to improve efficiency or minimize the environmental impact of logistics activities.
Handle technical details relating to possibly international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation.
Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle
Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
Examine the work area to assure that all required work has been completed and is in compliance with the contract requirements and resolve any differences.
Determine, communicate, and document deficiencies and ensure they are corrected in a timely manner.
Communicate with Operations Manager in a clear and understandable manner about all status updates.
Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets.
Maintain current records providing factual evidence that required quality control activities and/or tests have been performed.
Manages difficult customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.
Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out
In conjunction with the Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the implementation of PAE SOP’s, policies and procedures and reporting any deviations to the Operations Manager.
Performs other functions as maybe tasked by the Project Manager.
Requirements:
Proficient in standard logistics software.
Excellent knowledge in both the written and spoken English languages
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to operate independently in austere environment for protracted periods and willing to transfer to other missions as required.
A well-motivated individual, as the hours are long and hard. The hostile weather conditions factors must be taken in to consideration.
Able to live in tented accommodations in a remote location.
