The Security Manager is responsible for the day-to-day delivery and tactical supervision of security assessment, advice and assistance, primarily for Philippines with a secondary remit for Southeast Asia and rest of Asia. . The role primarily supports the Security Intelligence and Operations directions and priorities set by Asia Pacific Regional Security Intelligence and Operations management to ensure the delivery of consistent and high-quality services in relation to security, all-hazards (non-medical) trends and incident support. The Security Manager will also provide support to the regional and country sales and marketing team in support of sales and security consulting and training in Philippines and support of the wider region as required.
Key Responsibilities
Information & Operations:
Security subject matter assistance and analytical lead on Philippines, providing direction and guidance for security analytical products, complex cases and 24/7 escalation and crisis management support.
Mentoring, remote guidance, training and development of regional Specialists in Asia Pacific.
Responsible for the standard of delivery across core security services including situational awareness and thought space, analysis and forecasting, case management, operational planning, according to Services Standards.
Support the Country Assessment Process (CAP) activity by participating in CAP reviews and completing subsequent actions/tasks as directed, including refining Concepts of Operation, Escalation Matrices and research for mainland Southeast Asia
Participate in the Regional Security Centre on-call roster to ensure effective support to escalation
Conduct regular case and report reviews in line with the Quality Management Programme inclusive of feedback to Regional Specialists
Sales Support, Consulting and Training:
Support Sales and Marketing teams in Philippines.
Support client facing tasks as required, which includes scoping, selling as well as delivery of consulting and training services in Philippines in close coordination with functional regional stakeholders and local Account Managers.
Provide support to Philippines and regional sales and marketing team (meetings, marketing events, seminars) and assist in explaining the value of integrated all-hazards solutions to clients and prospects.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is desirable. Degree in politics, international relations or related subject is desired
Previous work experience in travel- or security- related field: including government, NGO, journalism, military, assistance, relevant field of academia
Experience in customer service or client facing role is required
Skills & Knowledge
Excellent knowledge of local and regional landscape for safety and security risk in Philippines and Southeast Asia
Expert in making prompt, clear decisions which may involve complex choices or considered risks
Expert in providing others with a clear direction, supervise and giving feedback
Ability to deliver consulting tasks
Commercial aptitude
Analytical and research skills
Additional Information
Excellent Filipino and English
Some travel will be required. Ability to deploy in countries in crisis (as part of an Incident Management Team)
