Purpose

Lead and manages all Newmont Mexico Security elements in Mexico which includes Peñasquito mine, out of the fence facilities, exploration sites and projects within Mexico in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the company and with the Regional and Corporate Security standards and guidelines.
Manages emergency response activities for Mexico.
Apply the best industrial Security practices for the protection of the Company personnel, dependents, assets and property.

Duties and Responsibilities 1

Manage, organize, and maintain the Security protocols at the mine, project and exploration sites in Mexico. Ensure adequate staffing at all locations.
Manage, organize, and maintain Security protection for the company's VIP´s, executive staff on travel to and from the place of operations.
Manage, organize, and maintain all security elements of critical production processes including production, sampling, storage and shipment.
Manage, organize, and maintain the Security requirement of hazardous and explosive storage areas.
Develop, manage, and maintain Security and Emergency response plans, programs and SOP´s related to the safety and protection of people, processes, equipment, assets and property of the company.
Manage, organize, and maintain the Security Systems, including access control, technical security elements such as alarm systems, cameras, monitoring equipment, electronic Security and site-specific security policies and procedures in accordance with Regional and Corporate standards and guidelines.
Manage, organize and maintain the Security Intelligence and Information system, and coordinate with the Joint Tasking and Coordination Group Mexico through the Regional Security Director.
Manage, organize, and maintain the effort to establish information networks essential to Mexico Security operations.

Duties and Responsibilities 2

Manage and provides information to Newmont on Threat and Risk assessments and Security vulnerability assessments for Mexico.
Coordinate closely with Sustainability and Human Resources on issues related to Security conditions that impact communities and / or employees.
Maintain permanent coordination with Newmont Mexico Managers and Superintendents regarding issues related to security.
Manage security related to Mexico contractor activities.
Manage the Newmont Mexico Security budget.
Conduct criminal background checks on designated job candidates as well as recurrent "lifestyle" investigations on critical staff.

Requirements

The position is located in Mexico.
Requires national and international travel.
Working and living conditions at a remote workplace (Peñasquito).
Duties must be fulfilled in different locations, as required
Must be available for EMERGENCIES 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in condition to attend to the mine in 5 hours if necessary.
High level analytical skills, good listening skills, high tolerance, decision-making capacity, excellent proactivity, responsibility, objectivity, ability to solve problems and to work in teams under different roles, proven loyalty and honesty

Education

Bachelor Degree. CPP preferred
Military or Police.
Driver's license A, intermediate English.
