Guard Force Commander (Security Guard Force)


Requirements
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the military, police, or guard force with proven experience in leadership roles is required.
A minimum of five years’ work experience in the host country.
Computer literate to a basic level, that is, able to write basic reports, produce Standard Operating Procedures, and email.
Advanced security training and experience with risk management including problem identification and problem solving required. :
Be a citizen of the host country, or a third country national citizen in possession of a valid current work visa in the host nation.
Speak Portuguese AND English speaking/reading skill level S3/R3.
Hold certificate 4 in Training and Assessment.
Hold a current host-country driver’s license.

Duties
Supervise the guard force that provides protection to all U.S. mission facilities.
Prepare guard orders, deployment of guards and weekly scheduling.
Conduct muster.
Conduct regular inspections of guards and guard posts.
Investigate irregularities.
Maintain inventory reports.
Prepare reports and making recommendations regarding discipline and termination actions; -Overseeing the refresher training program to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
Experience in all areas of physical security and access control.
Supervise 50-100 guards at a diplomatic facility.
Prepare guard orders, deploy guards, conduct musters and perform weekly scheduling.
Conduct regular inspections of guards and guard posts and investigate any irregularities.
Maintain inventory reports and investigate any irregularities.
Prepare reports and make recommendations regarding discipline matters.
Oversee the guard training program.
Oversee program logistics to include explosives detection and X-ray equipment.
Act as a point of contact with the U.S. government representative.
Ensure guards are properly uniformed, equipped and staffed.
Plan, coordinate and lead the guard force during training and emergency response drills.
Maintain flexible work schedule, which may include evening, weekend and holiday work.



Required Education:
The GFC must have completed a secondary education, high school, or National Diploma.
