Job Description:

Leidos is currently seeking Arms Room Specialists that will be located in either Kandahar or Masar-e Shariff, Afghanistan, to support the CLS-A program. The Arms Room Specialists will maintain arms rooms to store, issue, receive and maintain aircraft and aircrew weapons. The ideal candidate will work and travel in between customer sites as needed; customer sites include Kandahar, Kabul and Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The weapons can consist of side arms, M-4, M-240 and 9 MM guns to support the Mi-8/17 aircraft.
The arms rooms operations will support the routine OPTEMPO with surge requirements.
Ensure standardized weapons inventory and identification process are adhered to.
Ensure accountability of all weapons and repair tools.
Track/issue/inspect all dispatch-able weapons.
Implement and train a weapons safety program similar to those requirements identified in AFMAN 91-201, AR 385 series and adapted for Afghan personnel use.
Conduct serviceability checks of weapons IAW OEM procedures prior to issue.
Implement inspection criteria and schedule.
Train, advise and assist Afghan military personnel in all aspects of Arms room process/procedures and armament maintenance and repair.

Basic qualifications:
High School diploma with at least 3 years of experience working in an armory or arms room.
US citizen with an active NACI clearance.
Prior Service or civilian certification equivalent to be able to repair and maintain weapons; primarily M4, M9 and M240.
Ability to work and live in a team environment.

Candidates must be able to obtain/eligible the following.
NOTE: Failure to complete any of the actions listed below will void the terms of employment.
A current U.S. passport, with a minimum of 12 months remaining and multiple, consecutive blank pages, before employment start date.
Afghan Visa with multiple entries for 12 months prior to start date. (Provided by the program)
Successfully passing all CENTCOM CRC medical and training requirements. If the candidate is unable to successfully pass a medical screening, prior to their anticipated employment start date, immediate termination will be requested.
A positively adjudicated Federal Government Investigation in order to qualify for a Common Access Card (CAC).

Preferred qualifications:
Military deployment experience is highly desired and deployment experience to the CENTCOM region is desired
