Summary:
This position will be based out of Mogadishu, Somalia. The Vehicle Maintenance Technician will provide advisory and direct maintenance support services for generators and vehicles to the Somalia National Army (SNA) in Mogadishu, Somalia and assist SNA mechanics in conducting direct maintenance tasks on SNA vehicles and generators, including both scheduled maintenance and repairs to damaged equipment.
Work responsibilities are inspecting and testing of vehicles; completing preventive maintenance services on multiple vehicles and trucks to include scheduled manufacturer services requirements.
Technician will be able to perform up to level 3 maintenance on all vehicles and trucks in the SNA fleet.
Must be proficient in both mechanical and auto-electrical applications and have knowledge in troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and diesel generator sets with their associated fuel systems.
Possess experience in troubleshooting techniques for a variety of vehicles and generators. Provide mentoring and advisory support for SNA mechanics in a workshop environment.
Maintain all service equipment including all testing equipment and tools.
Have general working knowledge of work order processes, material and spares inventories, and general workshop administration requirements.
Preferred candidate must have strong auto electrical background and have completed associated training course.
Must have at least 5 years of experience working on a variety of vehicles, heavy trucks and power generation equipment.
