SOSi is currently seeking a Tactical Vehicle Mechanic Lead to analyze malfunctions and repair, rebuild, and maintain vehicles such as HUMVEEs, JLTVs, L-ATVs, S-ATVs, and other similar vehicles on a U.S. Government program in Honduras.
Responsibilities
Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
Dismantle and reassemble equipment, using hoists and hand tools.
Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
Replace defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions.
Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
Weld broken parts and structural members, may direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment, and may repair, adjust, and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines.
Qualifications
Current US Government SECRET security clearance.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of a vocational program for the subject trade discipline.
Successful completion of a journeyman program for the subject trade discipline.
Valid trade licensure/certification in the jurisdiction where work is to be performed (when required by local law).
Three (3) years of successful working experience in a similar position.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating on similar programs in Honduras is preferred.
Experience working in extreme climate conditions is preferred.
Fluency in Spanish is desirable, but not required.
Working Conditions
This position requires skills such as walking, running, climbing, crawling, and jumping and other similar physical activities.
Place of Performance: Government facilities in Honduras.
