Job Outline:
GardaWorld’s part-time research position will support the Dubai based High Risk Operations branch via analytical research. He/she will take ownership of the projects they are allocated, to include weekly and monthly risk advisory reports for Haiti and Yemen, whilst being guided by the editing manager as required. The position will advance through action rather than observation through career-level responsibilities, and will be treated as an important member of the team. Duties will include the following:
• Research and report upon allocated projects under the guidance of respective project managers.
• Undertake independent research in the production of working plans and reports suitable for global publishing after final editing by the respective line manager. Haiti and Yemen are the initial core.
• Projects may be based upon the following:
- Gain commercial knowledge about where GardaWorld operate and how to educate our businesses on commercial opportunities in their respective areas of operation.
- Research new market opportunities and potential clients in specified regions. Find means of approaching them by understanding their requirements.
- Research and analyse competitor strengths and weaknesses in order to achieve commercial advantage.
- Remote research and analytical support to GardaWorld Haiti and Yemen from GardaWorld Dubai.
- Research and analytical support to the wider GardaWorld High Risk operations business unit as required.
- Research and risk advisory support to regions and ad-hoc tasking that falls outside of core markets as and when required. Overseen and guided by the respective project manager.
Accountability:
GardaWorld’s Dubai based part-time research position is accountable to the Senior Manager, Risk Analysis for responsibilities stated in this job description.

Competencies:
Required
• Excellent writing and organizational skills.
• Flexible and keen to learn new skills.
• Bachelor Degree and/or Masters Degree in a relevant discipline such Political Science, International Affairs, History, Law.
• Demonstrable experience within a research environment
• Understanding of Socio-Economic factors within the Middle Eastern region and Africa.
Desired
• Understanding of security/intelligence processes
• Exposure to military systems/experience gained from a military environment
• Additional languages such as Arabic, French or Spanish would be an advantage.
Experience:
Experience within a research environment desirable. Legal and/ or intelligence/ risk advisory background ideal.
