Job Description


Sincerus is seeking a Sr. Combat Medic Trainer for work in various Sub-Saharan African countries partnered with the US State Department's GPOI (Global Peace Operations Initiative) training program. GPOI has absorbed the Africa Contingency Operations Training and Assistance (ACOTA) program. GPOI manages the program under the Department of State's Bureau of Political-Military Affairs in collaboration with the Bureau of African Affairs/Security Assistance (AF/SA). The program provides mentoring, advising, and training support and assistance to Host Nation (HN) training centers, their cadre, and units (company to brigade size and including multi-national force headquarters) in training for peacekeeping missions. This training may include extensive field training as well as training, equipment and infrastructure support for the training center and its staff and instructors.

Roles and Responsibilities
(Subject to variation based on Program and Partner Nation needs)
Serves as the Team Lead's Combat Medic SME.
Ensures quality control and consistency throughout Combat Medic Training.
Acts as the lead Combat Medic Trainer providing mentoring, advising, and training support to the Host Nation's units, training centers and their cadre.
Actively assesses risk within their training team and works with the Team Lead to mitigate.
Hosts AARs and actively works to improve POI's and systems based on AAR feedback.

Required Qualifications
Minimum of ten (10) years U.S. or foreign military combat medical occupational specialty experience.
Minimum Emergency Medical Technician (Basic) qualification.
Experience working in a trauma hospital or conducting triage operations during peacekeeping or disaster relief operations.
Experience as a trainer to a foreign security partner with directly related experience in medical capacity building.
Experience living & working in austere environment for extended periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications
Recent combat medic experience (within 5 yrs) while deployed to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation.
French language proficiency (2:2) for Francophone countries.
Regional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.
