Summary:
PRO-telligent, a Tetra Tech Company is seeking an experienced Mobile Training Team - Training Advisor. The role of the training advisor is to increase the capabilities of PCC trainers through instructor development and tactical training courses. The content will primarily be INL- and/or UN-developed curriculum, though the training advisor may be required to deliver other course curricula as directed. Requirements for this role will also include using INL-developed teaching tools and measurement systems to ensure learning occurred.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Team Lead in the development and implementation of training missions under the IPPOS program;
Deliver INL-approved course curriculum to students through lectures, discussions, and practical exercises;
Ensure only vetted students participate in trainings;
Ensure appropriate performance measurement tools relevant to pre-and post- training data are accurately completed and assist in the drafting and submission of the assessment reports when required;
Track, monitor, and evaluate training and trainees based on the IPPOS Performance Measurement Plan and toolkit;
Ensure on-time delivery of training-related requirements, including all work products, M&E deliverables, training, etc.; and
Travel overseas to and within countries that are considered dangerous, unhealthy or other adverse and austere environments
Five (5) years in an active, sworn position with a full-time federal, state, or local law enforcement agency or foreign law enforcement agency;
Certified police instructor from an accredited law enforcement instructor development training program with at least two (2) years’ experience of conducting trainings (must provide documentation of training experience and certifications);
Demonstrated experience instructing law enforcement curriculum to different audiences
Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
Experience working/living in developing and/or post-conflict countries;
Must maintain the highest ethical and performance standards while deployed
Must demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment and with trainers from other countries;
Must be able to deliver police training to foreign nationals through a language assistant;
Must be willing and capable of working in a fluid, austere environment, under challenging circumstances;
Must demonstrate knowledge of and ability to assess the capabilities of at least five (5) of the following skill sets:
Human rights
Gender violence issues
Community policing and problem solving
Crowd control and public order maintenance
Proper use of UN standard firearms – rifle, pistol, and grenade launchers
Defensive tactics and self defense
Tactical progression
Basic police techniques
VIP protection
Check points
First aid and CPR
Land navigation, map reading, and GPS
Driver training
UN System and operations in peacekeeping.
Ability to receive and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior UN peacekeeping experience or international police training and mentoring experience;
UN Police training certification;
Experience teaching law enforcement instructor development courses;
Familiarity with international and/or law enforcement training programs;
Familiarity with United Nations peacekeeping; and
Ability to speak and read foreign languages, especially French or Arabic.
