We are looking for an experienced person to join our team as HEIST Manager (Hostile Environment Individual Safety Training) based in Bamako.
Job overview:
The position of HEIST Manager will be primarily responsible for designing, organizing and implementing a 4 or 5 day HEIST training module, in French, for partner NGOs, in connection with the training department of INSO Mali - Burkina Faso. . The position is scheduled for 3 months.
The position of HEIST Manager will be based in Bamako and should not involve national travel.
Main Responsibilities:
Design the module:
Work closely with the training department of INSO Mali - Burkina Faso (Training Manager, 3 Training Officers, 1 Training Log, 1 training assistant).
The choice of themes and teaching methods will be discussed with the INSO Mali - Burkina Faso team (Director / Deputy) as well as the monitoring tools.
Rely on the training team from Nigeria, which has been deploying a HEIST for several years, and the Head of Training, based at INSO headquarters.
Directly supervise the Training Log and the Training Medical Officer for the design and implementation of the training.
Identify a place and the logistical and human resources to implement the training.
Organize and facilitate the first session:
With the INSO Mali - Burkina Faso training department in early December, facilitate the first session.
Collect and analyze participant feedback.
Establish rigorous and professional security conditions for participants, session staff and INSO in general.
Job requirements:
* Fluent French required, ability to read and exchange in English.
* Security training experience required.
* Development, effective (co-) facilitation or at least certified participation in HEAT or HEIST type training.
* Experience and mastery of individual security issues adapted to the humanitarian context.
* At least 2 years of experience as a security manager (or base coordinator, head of mission, log / security coordinator, project coordinator) for a humanitarian or development organization.
* Level of emergency medical assistance established.
* Understanding of humanitarian principles and practices.
* Knowledge of the Sahel context.
Personal characteristics :
* Interest in vocational training.
* Humanitarian commitment and for support to NGO partners.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, taste for teamwork.
* Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
* Ability to represent INSO.
Terms & Conditions: 3 month contract with start date scheduled for October 1, 2020, € 4,550 monthly salary, 4 days annual leave per month, comprehensive medical coverage (except US) and death / disability insurance.
